Sidley friends pull together

The group, which was set up in October, provides a chance for over 50s living in Sidley to socialise with like-minded people.

Jenny Wood, chairperson, said: "There's been a steady flow of people all morning. We're a new group, and happy to welcome people looking for something to do and somewhere to meet friends."

There were table sales, cake stalls, jigsaw puzzles and a raffle at the event, which lasted from 10am-12noon in All Saints Church Hall, Sidley.

The group meet in Sidley Community Centre on the third Monday in each month, from 2-4pm.

The next meeting will be on May 18, and new members are welcomed.
