Site visit like ’winning a golden ticket’

YOUNG children had an ‘amazing’ day when went to see the workings of a building site firsthand.

The school received an invite from PMGroup to take children to the site.

Reception teacher Kate Lyons said: “We leapt at the chance, went and had an amazing day.

“One of the parents said it was like getting a golden ticket for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We saw everything at work.

Dave and Olivia went out of their way to do so much for us. It’s building a good network within the community really. They want people to see what they are doing.”

The children got to see telescopic handlers in action and watched grinders at work.

The group set up a classroom where the children fitted pipes together and a digging area where they could mix cement.

Builder mascot Ivor Goodsite was close by throughout the day and the children were given hi-vis jackets and hard hats. Each of the 42 children also received a goodie bag.
