Sompting man charged with assault and slashing police tyres

A SOMPTING man has been charged with assault and criminal damage after the tyres of a police car were slashed.

Sean Bailey, 23, of Busticle Lane, Sompting, was charged with assault and criminal damage following his arrest on Monday, July 2.

The alleged assault was on a 47-year-old man and the criminal damage relates to the alleged slashing of tyres of a marked police car.

Bailey appeared before Worthing Magistrates’ Court on July 3 and pleaded not guilty to both offences.

He was bailed and is due back at court on August 13.
