IT WAS a busy bank holiday weekend for Sompting Village Morris as they celebrated May day in style.
More than 40 morris men and women gathered on Sunday at Splash Point, in Worthing, to celebrate the coming of summer.
They then paraded through Steyne Gardens before finishing at the bandstand in the town centre where they crowned the May Queen, Jennifer Doyle.
Morris man, Martin Frost, said it had been a great weekend, adding: “May day was quite spectacular.
“We had 45 dancers and musicians and we had a fair old crowd who stopped and watched.
“We really woke up summer which is what it is all about.”
