Sponsored bunny hop for Children In Need

Dressed as bunnies, fairies and even a pumpkin, the children of Jo Jingles in Little Common took part in a sponsored hop this week.

Organiser Emma Kennedy, who runs three sessions of Jo Jingles on Mondays at the Methodist church hall, held the event to raise funds for Children In Need.

She said: "I am very excited. A lot of them had face paint and home-made costumes - they did very well. We had this sponsored bunny hop and just today they have raised over 100 for Children In Need. They have all done ever so well - we had fancy dress and there were quite a lot of bunnies, but we had fairies too, and a pumpkin.

"It's wonderful - they are really enthusiastic. One of the mums in the class made a bunny outfit just for this. The children brought their little jo dolls with bunny tails on - it was just so lovely."

Emma has three Jo Jingles sessions on Monday - the first is for under-2's, from 9.30-10.15, then 2-3's between 10-11.15, and the 3-5 year olds at 1.30-2.15.

This is music and movement for children and their mothers, and the classes are built around the doll Jo Jingles with a different theme each week - Emma believes this gives youngsters a great start to learning and enjoying music.

"Some of the older ones have started at reception class and come here afterwards. It is lovely that they haven't stopped coming here even though they have gone on to big school," said Emma.
