STORM KATIE: West Street blocked after strong winds damage scaffolding
Scaffolding has been put up around HSBC bank whilst works are being carried out to repair the building.
A spokesman for the fire service said firefighters were called earlier this morning (Monday March 28) and cordoned off the area after concerns were raised about the scaffolding ‘leaning’ into the high street.

Winds of up to 70mph battered the south last night and into the early hours of this morning uprooting trees and leaving thousands without power.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said it had received more than 100 calls over the past 12 hours due to the weather whilst Sussex Police said more than 600 incidents had been reported across the south.
Trains and flights have been cancelled or delayed and dozens of roads have been left blocked.
