Josh, who attends Sir Robert Woodard Academy, has been growing his hair for a long time but he wanted it cut to be used to make a wig for a child.

He explained: “My nan died from cancer five years ago and I wanted to do something for cancer but she also loved children. She fostered, had four of her own, adopted one and was the best nan ever.

“So as there are so many different things going on for cancer charities, I wanted to do something different. Last year, my sister donated her hair, so I thought I have been growing my hair for years and I want to do something that will really take courage as its hard to remember having short hair and I love my long hair.

“I thought I could put the cancer and the love of children my nan had together and help a child who has lost their hair, not just to cancer, and provide a wig, as well as getting people to donate so that the money can go towards making a wig from my hair.”
