A fire engine, quad bikes and an ice cream van were just some of the vehicles used to take pupils to the prom which was held at the school hall.

Jane Baker, year 11 co-ordinator at the school said: “It was an excellent evening. It was a shame it was so cold but it stopped raining the moment they arrived. They all dressed up for the occasion and looked lovely.”

Various awards were presented on the night, with the main award of prom king and queen going to Jake Willifer and Georgina Smithers.

There was a double celebration for Alex Berks, who turned 16 on the night. He was presented with a basketball shaped cake and his brother was the DJ for the evening.

The students went on to another prom party hosted by one of the parents once the school prom had finished.
