Students love new library

STUDENTS at Heathfield College are queueing to get into the new library.

The purpose-built library cost more than half a million pounds to build and boasts 30 new PCs for internet access.

Officials from the county council joined staff and pupils at the school for an official opening on Thursday last week.

The library has been paid for entirely by the school and through fund-raising efforts from parents, governors and children.

It's run by Alison Bending, library manager at the college, who is also supported by parent volunteers, student librarians and countless library prefects. In fact, the library is now so popular around nine pupils are volunteering to help out each day.
