Students protest as axe falls on sixth form

STUDENTS at Seaford Head Community College are staging a protest over the suspension of the school's sixth form.

Students from the current sixth form and those in Year 11 have gathered outside the upper school to show their anger at the plans.

It was announced on Tuesday that the sixth form would be suspended for at least next year.

The school said it would not take any new students but would honour the existing two years.

But student Brett McElwaine, a sixth form student, said they were not happy.

He said: 'Mrs Golds (Seaford Head principal) said she was going to honour courses but the IT Btec is going to stop and now it looks like music might too.'

Tom Roper, a parent, has set up a group on the social netwotking site Facebook called, Keep Seaford Head Sixth Form.
