Stunning summer artexhibition held in Rye

The Rye Society of Artists’ Summer Exhibition is now on at the Boys’ Club, half way up Mermaid Street.

This year’s show is yet again a stunning example of the wealth of artistic talent that exists in the Rye area.

In the foyer there is a retrospective exhibition of Hastings based artist Robert Falla, who died last year.

In the two main galleries are paintings by Richard Adams, Louis Turpin, Angie Braven, David Crew and Cliff Howe. There are three paintings by Fred Cuming RA for sale, a particular favourite is “Angel of the South”

Photography is represented by amongst others Peter Greenhalf and John Fewster and Angela Delf.

There are also ceramics including work by Tony Bennett, Judith Rowe and Sarah Palmer and Rye based artist Steve Duffy.
