Stylish Retro Night will raise money for dementia care services

The evening has a Dance for Dementia theme to help spread awareness and raise funds for Guild Care’s vital services.

Guests are invited to dress up in vintage outfits and enjoy a fun-filled evening of music and dance. The evening starts at 7.30pm on Friday, June 24, at Methold House, the Guild Care Centre in North Street, Worthing.

Tickets are £15, which includes ‘fizz and chips’, followed by ice-cream oysters.

Each guest will receive a free printed vintage photo and there will be the opportunity to have a retro hairstyle done by one of Guild Care’s stylists for a small fee.

Guild Care events officer Jade Sketchley said: “If you fancy some victory rolls, Sandra Dee’s sleek ponytail or maybe some bumper bangs, then you can for a minimum donation of just £3.

“As if all this excitement wasn’t enough, you will also be treated to an evening of quality entertainment with local band Eee-O-Eleven and Karen from the Silhouette Show.

“Eee-O Eleven are a rat-pack tribute band. The duo’s shows perfectly capture not only the magic of the music and comedy of the legends that were Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, Jr but also the remarkable personalities of the stars who truly ruled the entertainment world.”

Steve Pannell, from the band, said: “We were approached from the fundraising department to play at their event and were really happy to say yes.

“Not only do we get to play the music we love, but it will be fantastic to see the 1940s and ’50s setting, too.

“Dementia is a disease that could pull families part if there isn’t the right support so if we can be a part of an event to help raise funds to make a difference then we’re on board.”
