Lancing-based children’s flute ensemble Home and Away organised the event, which featured local musicians and other acts from the surrounding area.

Music coordinator, Patricia Enticknapp said the show, held in Sompting Village Primary School on Saturday, March 28, was ‘fantastic’.

“Not only is it good morale for the children it also brought the community together in the end,” said Mrs Enticknapp.

The money will buy a pregnant cow from Ethiopia to send to Uganda, so children at an orphanage will have fresh milk. This will be organised by charity, Living Hope Ministries.

The night saw performances from children and adults, including a poetry recital, comedy duo, live music and much more.

Mrs Enticknapp said: “There was at least 130 people and they all stayed after the show for some cream tea.”

The group plan to hold another show in the future.
