Teenager headbutted and punched in village assault

A 13-year-old boy was headbutted and punched during an '˜unprovoked' attack in Steyning.

Police said the attack took place in White Horse Square at 3.30pm on Saturday (March 26) and involved a group of 13-year-old boys and the occupants of a white 4x4.

Officers said a man, who was a rear seat passenger in the car, got out of the vehicle and assaulted one of the boys by headbutting and punching him. The boy did not sustain any serious injuries.

The man has been described as white, 20 to 30, with ginger hair, and possibly using a hearing aid.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said the attack was ‘unprovoked’ and officers were appealing for witnesses.
