The Royal BritishLegion needs you!

The Royal British legion has launched an appeal to find around 350,000 volunteers for the annual Poppy Appeal.

Dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers across Sussex are being sought to form part of The Royal British Legion’s (RBL) army of fundraisers for this year’s Poppy Appeal.

Each year more than 350,000 poppy volunteers are needed across the country to raise much-needed funds to support current and former Armed Forces personnel, and their

families. This year people in Sussex are being asked to come forward to help boost the Legion’s team of fundraising volunteers. The Legion is looking for people of all ages and backgrounds to help run the Poppy Appeal in local communities across the nation. Poppy Appeal Organisers are also being sought for Eastbourne, Newhaven and Uckfield.

Charles Byrne, RBL Director of Fundraising, says The Poppy Appeal is the RBL’s main fundraising event of the year. “The Appeal simply wouldn’t be possible without the tremendous support we receive each year from our valued volunteers,” he said. “They are very much the lifeblood of the Poppy Appeal and they contribute enormously to the charity year-round through a variety of roles.

“Last year was a great year for us and we hope that this year will see even more people become volunteers and join the Legion team to help keep alive the memory of the fallen and support the future of the living.”
