Thousands raised by walkers on A2B trek

THE fundraising team at The Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity are celebrating after raising more than £10, 000 at the recent Arundel to Brighton walk.

Walkers trekked the 35 kilometres between the two locations to raise money for babies and children affected by cerebral palsy and other motor learning difficulties.

Families and individuals taking part set off at 7am from Arundel Castle on Saturday, September 19.

50 walkers took part in the A2B challenge, trekking over the South Downs countryside before finishing at the Devil’s Dyke.

Catherine Bristow, eve nts fundraiser for the charity, said: “I’d personally like to thank so many people for their support, including outdoor adventure company, Pied A Terre Adventures, everyone from Rapid Relief Team, Dave Powell from LPG Photographic and all of our volunteers. We could not have done it without them.”

The Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity are also calling for people to represent the charity in the upcoming London and Brighton marathons.

The Brighton Marathon takes place on April 17, 2016, and the London Marathon takes places on April 24, 2016.

Whereas there are several places open to support the charity in the Brighton Marathon, there is one place available in the London Marathon.
