The resignations of Mash Barn councillor Jason Lock and Manor councillor Glenn Souter were announced when the parish council met for its monthly meeting last Wednesday, October 5.

The resignations trigger a period of 14 working days during which the vacancy must be advertised.

During this time if the parish council receives a notice signed by 12 electors then an election must then be held, otherwise the council can appoint (co-opt) a new councillor to fill any positions.

A by-election will be held following the earlier resignation of Churchill councillor Ray McLeod after enough people wrote in.

That election must be held within 60 days of September 30, and any other elections would be held on the same day.
