A CRICKET club’s new £7,000 all-weather wicket has been damaged by fire in an unexplained incident.

Club secretary Nick Brown, of Pelham Road, Worthing, said: “We were really annoyed.

“Especially having gone to the effort to have a new pitch laid, and having only played a handful of games on it. It looks bad when opposition sides come here to play on it.”
