Pressleys, which has two adjacent stores in South Street, Worthing, will open the town’s first Pandora shop in Montague Street in the coming months.

The move follows the ‘incredible success’ of the Pandora concept store run by the firm in Chichester, where it also has branches.

Owner Jonathan Pressley said; “It is very exciting for Worthing as it will light up Montague Street.

“Chichester’s Pandora concept store has been incredibly successful and we feel this will be absolutely phenomenal for the town and will draw a lot of people into the area.”

Pressleys, which has operated in Worthing for over 100 years, will run the standalone Pandora store as a franchise.

It already sells the brand in its other Worthing branches, with it contributing to a significant proportion of sales.

“Companies like Pandora love working with us because they know that we deliver very high standards of customer experience.

“We cannot say at this stage where specifically in Montague Street it will be but we hope to open the store before the end of the summer.

Worthing town centre manager Sharon Clarke said the new store would be a welcome addition to the town’s retail offer.

She said: “I’m really pleased with this news. This is really exciting for Worthing. Shoppers like quality and both the Pressleys and Pandora brands are synonymous with quality.”

The jeweller was founded in 1909 by George ‘Harry’ Pressley, who initially opened in Montague Street.

In 1935, the shop moved to South Street, which was at the time the town’s premier shopping street.

The South Street branch was extended next door in 2011.
