Town’s art trail again proves to be huge hit

This year has proved to be a great success with 473 exhibiting artists over 50 venues and the new venue of Worthing Town Hall saw more than 150 visitors last weekend.

Tommy Nicholson, Worthing Art Trail trustee, said: “We had a fantastic crowd anxiously waiting outside and I officially opened the event with a few inspirational words and thank-yous to all who had attended, taken part and supported the event since it all began.

“The mayor actually reserved and will be purchasing works from our exhibiting artists, which was hugely encouraging to other buyers. He continued to spend time with artists and visitors, discussing the art works on display, which, for me, was a fantastic highlight.

“We are very much looking forward to our next weekend and are confident the event will continue to bring in the public and allow us to show the people of Worthing something new in such an amazing venue.”

Angela Bolton is exhibiting mosaic works at another new venue - the Southern Pavilion on Worthing Pier.

The mother-of-two, of Lansdowne Place, Worthing, said: “This is an amazing venue and I am so excited to be one of four artists exhibiting there.

“I have been making mosaics for about 15 years and I am completely obsessed with it.

“I do quite a lot of portraits, some buildings and sea scenes but for the trail, I have worked to an art deco theme to reflect the amazing building.

“My inspiration comes from a variety of places but I love what I do - if we go on holiday I cannot wait to get back to start a new mosaic. I have a total addiction and I cannot stop.

“This is the most impressive venue I have exhibited in by far and this is probably my best work to date as well.”
