Appeal after man dies in road accident

Witnesses are being sought after a man from Bognor Regis died in a car crash last Thursday, December 16.

The collision took place on the C44 Pagham Road in Lagness between Chichester and Bognor at around 10.50pm.

Sussex Police said two Ford Fiestas were travelling in opposite directions and collided.

One car left the road and the driver, aged 70, died at the scene.

The driver of the other car, a man aged 25 and his two passengers aged 22 and 26 were treated at St Richard’s Hospital for minor injuries.

A taxi driven by a Chichester man, aged 28, which was behind the car in which the man died, was slightly damaged in the collision, but the driver and his four passengers were unhurt.

Sussex Police would like to speak to anyone who was on that stretch of road and may have seen what happened.
