Traffic lights mangled in Worthing town centre

A NEW set of traffic lights was smashed beyond repair after a crash in Worthing town centre over the weekend.

A taxi travelling eastbound in Richmond Road hit the traffic lights as it went to turn right into Chapel Road at 3.45am yesterday (July 27).

“The driver was not hurt. But the traffic lights were damaged and not working,” said a police spokeswoman.

She said the lights were due for repair around midday yesterday however as of this morning they had not been removed.
