Transport boss put road users at risk

A TRANSPORT manager who actively colluded in getting HGV drivers to break the rules and work over their legal hours has been disqualified from the industry for five years.

Garrath Jones, of Bellview Road, Worthing, knew drivers’ journeys could not be completed legally but did nothing about it, the region’s Traffic Commissioner has concluded.

The ruling by Nick Denton, the industry regulator for London and the South East, comes after a public inquiry heard that Mr Jones had been convicted of 15 offences of conspiracy to falsify a record.
