Arsons and varnish fire attended by West Sussex firefighters

INCIDENTS attended by firefighters this weekend include:-

Friday, March 2, 10.23am to 10.47am:

Land off Cornfield Close, Littlehampton – Rubbish on fire extinguished by firefighters using buckets of water. One crew from Littlehampton in attendance, arson.

Friday, March 2, 3.32pm to 7.07pm:

Demolition site, Maydwell Avenue, Slindon – small fire involving container of liquid varnish in storage unit. Container allowed to burn out under control. Accidental ignition. Crews from Horsham, Billingshurst, Crawley, Haywards Heath and Worthing in attendance.

Saturday, March 3, 1.21am to 1.49am:

Chanctonbury Close, Washington – Fire started next to cars. Slight damage to outside of two cars. Fire, believed to be arson, out on arrival of crew from Storrington.

Saturday, March 3, 2.49pm to 3.25pm:

House, in Church Road, Selsey – chimney fire extinguished by crew from Selsey.

Saturday, March 3, 6.37pm to 7.12pm:

Flats, in The Maltings, Billingshurst – flat affected by water leaking from shower in bathroom of upper flat. Water isolated at main stopcock by Billingshurst crew and left with landlord.

Saturday, March 3, 8.17pm to 9.47pm:

Pub, in Arundel Road, Clapham – Chimney fire extinguished by firefighters from Worthing.
