Busy weekend for West Sussex firefighters

BELOW are just some of the incidents attended by West Sussex firefighters from Friday, January 27, to today (Monday, January 30).

Friday, January 27, 6.48pm to 7.05pm:

Bosham main road – crash involving two cars, one man taken to hospital by ambulance. Scene made safe by firefighters from Chichester.

Friday, January 27, 11.15pm to 12.07am:

Butlins, Upper Bognor Road, Bognor Regis – smoke entering restaurant through air vents, building evacuated, small fire in external compressor unit out on arrival. Compressor isolated and inspected by firefighters using thermal imaging camera, incident left with Butlins staff. Attended by two crews from Bognor Regis.

Saturday, January 28, 8.08am to 8.20am:

Alford Close, Worthing – small fire in bungalow kitchen involving electric cook. Fire out on arrival of firefighters, ventilation carried out by two crews from Worthing.

Saturday, January 28, 7.36pm to 7.55pm:

Rear of Highdown Drive, Littlehampton – small fire in wooded area extinguished by firefighters using buckets of water. Arson, police in attendance. One crew from Littlehampton.

Monday, January 30, 2am to 2.18am:

Caravan Park, Durban Road, Bognor Regis – One caravan destroyed by fire, arson, attended by two crews from Bognor.
