The A280 Long Furlong is shut both ways between the A24 Findon By-Pass (Findon Roundabout) and the A27 Arundel Road (Angmering / Clapham junction) for electricity work, the AA said.

There are delays of six minutes and delays increasing on Upper Brighton Road Westbound between the A27 Upper Brighton Road (Lyons Farm Traffic Lights) and the A27 Arundel Road. The average speed is 15mph.

There are reports of metal on the road on the A23 at M23 J11 (Pease Pottage). Drivers are being urged to approach with care.

There is queueing traffic on the A27 Polegate By Pass both ways between Brown Jack Avenue and the A22 Polegate Road (Cop Hall Roundabout), the AA said. Lane restrictions are in place for long term carriageway works. The eastbound side is heavily congested.

Paddock Lane is closed from A2029 White Hill to Irelands Lane due to the demolition and rebuild of the flint wall.

The B2092 Harley Shute Road is closed due to gas main work both ways between Conqueror Road and Asten Close.

A one car crash has closed the A275 London Road Northbound from Church Lane to Freshfield Lane. The incident is affecting traffic travelling between Wych Cross and North Chailey.

On the railway network there are no direct services between London Victoria and Brighton in both directions, Southern Rail said. Passengers can use Thameslink services via Three Bridges and East Croydon.
