Littlehampton woman killed in collision named

A woman from Littlehampton who died after she was involved in a collision with a car on Wednesday (January 20) has been named as Gilda Biffi,

At 10.14am officers were called to reports of the incident in Highdown Drive.

The pedestrian, a 79-year-old woman from Littlehampton, was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, where she sadly died of her injuries.

The driver of the van, a 49-year-old man from Worthing, was uninjured.

The road was temporarily closed between the A259 and Cornwall Road but has since reopened.

Witnesses are asked to email [email protected] or phone 101, quoting Operation Gedding.
