Man, 86, taken to hospital after collision in Shoreham

An 86-year-old man has been taken to hospital after a collision which saw one vehicle rolled onto its side.

At around 12.30pm on Saturday (October 31), Sussex Police and West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service attended a collision between two vehicles at Eastern Avenue, Shoreham-by-Sea. As a result of the collision, one of the vehicles had rolled onto its side and the occupant, an 86-year-old man, was extracted by the fire service. He has been taken to hospital with minor injuries, according to police. The driver of the second vehicle also received minor injuries and was treated at the scene, police added. The northbound carriageway of Eastern Avenue remains closed at this time while the vehicles are recovered. Any witnesses are asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 601 of 31/10.
