Sussex traffic update for Wednesday, October 14

Motorists on Sussex's roads can enjoy mostly clear roads this morning (October 14), with only a few incidents causing delays.

A fallen tree in Drayton Lane, east of Chichester, is causing congestion around the A259.

There is very slow traffic between Worthing and Shoreham. Queuing traffic has been reported on A259 Brighton Road both ways from The Saltings (Saltings Roundabout) to A2025 South Street. Temporary traffic lights are in place for water main works, causing heavy congestion eastbound.

Very slow traffic has also been reported on A27 Old Shoreham Road westbound from A283 Steyning Road (Steyning turn off) to A2025 Grinstead Lane (Sompting Roundabout).

A lane is closed on A27 Polegate By Pass both ways between A2270 Eastbourne Road and A22 (Cop Hall Roundabout), due to construction works, with queues backing up in all directions.
