Sussex travel: A24 emergency repairs cause heavy traffic

Emergency repairs have closed the A24 Northbound between Mill Straight and B2237 Worthing Road (Hop Oast Park And Ride Roundabout) are causing delays in the area, particularly through Worthing Road in Southwater, according to the AA.

Moor Lane is closed both ways between Eighteen Pounder Lane and Ivyhouse Lane during the day time for construction.

Construction work has also closed the B2159 Battle Road both ways between A2100 The Ridge West and Hollington Fish and Chips Shop.

Following the earlier completion of the resurfacing works the road remains closed for iron works and whilst line painting takes place.

Telecoms work has shut North Street near Blackboys both ways between Harpers Lane and The Street.

The road is also shut due to construction both ways from North Street/Harpers Lane to North Street/Possingworth Lane.

Resurfacing work has shut High Street near Ticehurst during the day time both ways between Lymden Lane and Vineyard Lane.

Barcombe Mills Road is also closed both ways due to construction work between Barcombe Village Hall and the A26.

There are no major delays on the rail network but Southeaster said there are alterations to Hastings Line services, due to a derailed train at Tonbridge sidings.

A spokesman added: “Hastings Line services may be busier than normal.”
