Sussex travel: Delays on A27 and train derails at Bognor Regis, blocking all lines

There are delays on the A27 at Worthing this morning. According to traffic reports, there is slow traffic eastbound, from the A24 Findon Road (Offington Corner) to Sompting Road.

Travel time is said to be around ten minutes.

Meanwhile, due to a low speed derailment at Bognor Regis, all lines in and out of the station are blocked.

Southern said no trains will stop at the station until approximately midday.

A spokesman said: “The train involved was travelling at a very slow speed.

“Everyone is safely off the train with no injuries.

“Bus replacement buses have been ordered and will operate between Barnham and Bognor Regis.

“We are expecting the buses to arrive in approximately one hours time.

“If you are travelling to Bognor Regis, you will need to take an alternative service to Barnham and change there for a replacement bus service.

“Please wait for the replacement bus service to Barnham and change there for onward trains towards London, Brighton and stations along the South Coast.

“Please allow plenty of extra time to complete your journey.”
