TRAFFIC ALERT: Bury Hill, near Pulborough, closed after crash between a lorry and motorbike

A ROAD has been closed in both directions tonight (Tuesday, March 20) following a serious collision between a motorbike and an HGV lorry.

The accident happened at Bury Hill, Bury near Pulborough, at around 4.35pm today (Tuesday, March 20).

The motorcyclist was riding a green Triumph Speed Triple motorcycle when he collided with a white Man HGV lorry.

Police said the motorcyclist, believed to be in his 30s, has been taken by ambulance to St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester, with “serious and potentially life-changing injuries”.

The road is currently closed in both directions. Police are working to open the road as soon as possible, which is expected to be in the next two hours.

The 27-year-old lorry driver from Gateshead was uninjured in the collision.

Police and other emergency services would like to thank road users for their patience and understanding while the road is made safe for use and collision investigation officers gather evidence.
