UPDATE: Congestion after serious road accident in Worthing

A PEDESTRIAN who was seriously injured in an accident is expected to be airlifted to hospital, according to eye witnesses.

The man was crossing the road in North Street, opposite Lidl, at around 4pm today (July 1) when he collided with a motorcycle.

Ambulances, police cars and a police helicopter attended, as paramedics treated him at the scene.

According to eye witnesses, the injured man was expected to be airlifted to hospital from Homefield Park.

The motorcyclist was shaken but uninjured from the incident.

Traffic became congested in the area as emergency crews attended the incident, and traffic is now being diverted away from North Street.
