Update: Woman, 90, dies after being hit by motorcycle on A283

A 90-year-old woman has died after being struck by a motorcycle on the A283.

The Storrington woman was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries from the collision in the village at 10.26am yesterday (Saturday December 19), police said.

She was in a critical condition at Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. A police spokesman this morning confirmed she had died.

A 67-year-old man from Worthing, who was travelling east on the yellow Honda motorcycle, suffered minor injuries from the collision which happened outside the New Milford Grange housing development.

The road was closed for three hours while officers carried out investigation and recovery work.

Witnesses and people with information have been asked to call police on 101 or email [email protected] quoting Operation Binham.
