Warning to Sussex motorists as snow falls in parts of the county

Police have warned motorists to take extra care if they need to drive today as snow falls in parts of the county.

Gatwick Police said there had been a light dusting of snow in Crawley, while people in Crowborough also woke up to some snow.

Gatwick Police added: "It’s cold out there this morning with a light dusting of snow. If you have to drive today take extra care."

Temperatures across the South East are expected to remain low as the day progresses, while some rain showers are expected in parts of Sussex.

Thursday morning could see temperatures drop into minus figures, with misty fog forecast.

Temperatures are then due to rise by the weekend, with highs of 7 to 8 degrees celsius predicted for the start of next week.
