Woman rushed to hospital after Wiston crash

A 54-YEAR-OLD woman was rushed to hospital after her car collided with a lorry.

The accident happened at the junction of the A283 Washington Road and Water Lane, in Wiston, at 2.50pm today (Monday, December 12).

The 54-year-old woman driver had to be cut out of her Peugeot and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, in Brighton, after suffering possible fractures to her pelvis and ribs.

The lorry driver was unhurt.

Firefighters from Steyning, Shoreham and Worthing attended the scene and were there for an hour.

Nearby Spithandle Lane, in Wiston, was closed while the accident was cleared.
