Worthing town centre collision: police give update on man’s condition

Police have given an update on the condition of a man seriously injured in a collision with a car in Worthing.

The 36-year-old local man was crossing the A259 North Street just before 8pm on Friday evening (May 15) when he was involved in a collision with a black Nissan Qashqai.

He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

The 40-year-old driver of the Nissan, a Worthing man, was uninjured and the road was closed for several hours while the incident was dealt with, police added.

Today (May 20), police gave an update.

A spokesman said: “The victim was reported to be in a stable condition in hospital on Sunday (May 17).”
