TRAVEL NEWS: Tanker breakdown on A27 at Arundel causes lengthy delays

RUSH-HOUR motorists faced delays of more than an hour this morning (Monday, August 12) after a tanker lorry broke down on the A27 just outside Arundel.

The truck broke down on the single-carriageway section of the road, on the bridge at Arundel railway station.

The partial blockage caused tailbacks of more than two miles in the Chichester direction, approaching Arundel, and lengthy delays for drivers travelling west along the A27.

At about 9.30am traffic was still being affected by the breakdown.
