Katherine Wilson from Shoreham and Carol Ives from Worthing will be tackling the unrenovated section of the wall.

Carol said: “ It is a demanding trek of a vigorous upward climb along a rough and stony path of uneven steps, however I know this will be rewarding.”

Katherine, who runs the Walk in Wardrobe Boutique in Western Road, Hove, said it was a personal challenge for her, as she has had two partial knee replacements.

She is raising money for Rockinghorse children’s charity because she wants to support sick children.

Celebrity stylist Carol’s charity is Martlets Hospice in Hove.

She explained: “I lost my mother to cancer and I like to do something each year in her memory.

“It is important that I challenge myself to remind me of the challenges that too many people face daily with the loss of their loved ones.”

Katherine said they had been practising recently, including a five-hour walk around the Arundel and Amberley area.

“We are struggling with a few ailments, but pushing through the pain with the help of Tiger Balm and painkillers!” she said.
