Two people from Littlehampton arrested after street assault in Worthing

TWO people were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm after a man was left with serious head injuries.

Just after 3am this morning, Friday, August 3, police were called to Railway Approach, Worthing, after receiving reports of a fight.

A 48-year old Worthing man was found lying in the street and has been taken to St Richards Hospital in Chichester with serious head injuries. Two people, a 23-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, both from Littlehampton, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

A Sussex Police spokesman said; “Enquiries are at an early stage, and we would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at that time and saw anything of what happened. In particular, we are appealing to anyone who had been in Illusions night club in Railway Approach. The fight followed immediately after a dispute between two couples in the entrance of the club as they were leaving, so if you were in the club in the early hours of this morning please get in touch with us.”
