UKIP: Use all the council's resources

Spending has to be prudent - but we have now reached crunch time.

I have been in contact with council officers and been told the council has general reserves of £39 million. It is recommended that £9 million has to be held in reserve, but that leaves £30 million that I beleive can help protect frontline services.

The council has land and buildings worth, at March 31 2014, £1.171 billion. It's a huge amount, even though there are restrictions on what you can do with any money raised from their sale.

Furthermore, there is another £43 million in investment returns.

We are in such a financial crisis that I believe the council should use all the resources it has access to. We have reached crunch time - and we do not want to lose our youth services, our community services, or our children's centres.
