Unique snapshot of West Sussex published

ANSWERS to questions such as the what is the population of West Sussex and what it is predicted to reach by 2033 are in a report called West Sussex Life 2012, which has just been published on the county council’s website.

The report is full of facts and figures on topics including population, housing, the economy, education and skills, culture, and health and well-being.

“It is a unique snapshot of life in West Sussex published in a very accessible and reader-friendly format”, said Louise Goldsmith, leader of the council.

In a foreword to the report she says: “The purpose is to help inform public sector agencies, voluntary and community organisations, service providers, and, equally importantly, the residents of West Sussex to understand what contributes to our quality of life.

“We are currently living in extremely harsh economic times, so it is important to understand the changing landscape of the county, socially, economically and environmentally, in order that we can focus on the things that make a positive difference to our communities.”

The website includes a feedback survey. Louise said: “We value information about what people or organisations have used the report for, what they found useful, as well as ideas and suggestions for improvements.”

The answer to that population question is 806,900, predicted to rise to 953,277 in 2033, and there are almost 20,000 households on social housing lists in West Sussex.
