West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has said an investigation into the cause of a fire in a derelict Lancing building is underway.
The blaze ripped through the building in Old Shoreham Road and raged for more than two hours on Wednesday night (December 2), with teams of firefighters on the scene.
No-one was injured in the incident and the cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
Crews were called to the property on the corner of Grinstead Lane around 6.50pm and a spokesman for the fire service said the roof and the ground floor of the building were well alight on arrival.
Four pumps, three from Worthing and one from Steyning, were sent to tackle the fire.
Firefighters left the scene shortly after 9pm, before going back for a re-inspection at 11.35pm to ensure the area was safe.
The A27 was closed for a short while last night due to smoke covering the dual carriageway.
