UPDATE: Findon fatal collision
A 62-year-old man from Storrington was killed when his car was involved in a head-on collision with a 32-tonne heavy goods vehicle on the A280 at Long Furlong near Findon yesterday (Wednesday, January 18).
The man, who was driving a blue Peugeot estate car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police and emergency services attendedat around 2.25pm and the A280 was closed for a number of hours while forensic examinations were carried out and the Highways Agency cleared the debris and oil from the road surface.
The lorry driver, a 24-year-old man, also from Storrington, was unhurt.
Sussex Police is appealing for witnesses to the collision to please call 101 quoting Operation Alderbrook.
