UPDATE: Littlehampton house blaze was '˜deliberate', says fire service

West Sussex Fire and Rescue has confirmed a fire in a Littlehampton property earlier today (June 19) was deliberate.

Crews from Littlehampton, Worthing and Bognor were called to a terraced house in Linden Road after receiving a call at 2pm, where the first floor was up in flames.

Firefighters tackled the blaze using six breathing apparatus, two hose reels, one covering jet and one hydrant, as well as a thermal imaging camera.

The front room and hallway of the property has been 100 per cent damaged by smoke and 40 per cent damaged by fire.

The fire has now been extinguished and the incident has been handed over to Sussex Police.

Nobody was hurt.
