UPDATE: Mobility scooter driver speaks of shock
A man who was involved in a collision with a lorry this morning in Worthing has spoken of his shock.
Dennis Stoner, 68, of Ringmer Road, said he was crossing South Street in Tarring on his mobility scooter, when a refuse lorry collided with him on the road.
Mr Stoner said: “I couldn’t believe it at first. My ankle was hurt and my neck was injured. I was told it was just the shock but we will see.
“I must say there were people there that were absolutely brilliant, and my actual scooter was taken away last week, so this one was on loan.
“At the moment I don’t feel like going out and about but I will see in the morning how I am and I will go from there.”
Police said they were called to South Street around 10.25am to reports of a collision between a refuse lorry and a mobility scooter, but the road was cleared by 11.25am.
