West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called at 9.50am with reports that two adults had been trapped in a lift at the Travelodge in Marine Parade, Worthing.

Two crews from Worthing were sent to the scene, and used lift keys to rescue the pair at around 10.20am.

A fire service spokesman said lift keys are a set of different sized keys that allow their crews to open the external doors to a lift shaft so they can assess where the stuck lift is.
