UPDATE: Police appeal for witnesses to suspected cinema arson

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fire at one of Lancing's former landmarks.

As previously reported, West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service put out a fire at the old Luxor cinema building in Lancing on Monday morning and are treating it as deliberate. Read the full report here.

A statement from Sussex Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses to a fire which was started deliberately in a disused cinema building in South Street, Lancing, on Monday (15 August) at 10.15am.

“West Sussex Fire and Rescue attended and found an abandoned mattress had been set on fire. The blaze was put out. No one was hurt.

“Anyone who saw anything suspicious is asked to contact police by emailing 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or ring 101 quoting serial 417 of 15/08.”
