UPDATE: Road closed after van hits tree

A major road was closed after a van collided with a tree this morning (Friday July 1)

Police said officers were called to the crash on the A283, near Washington, at 4.25am. No-one was injured.

Sussex Roads Police said West Sussex Highways was called to remove the tree from the road.

The road was closed causing delays between the Chanctonbury Ring Road junction and the B2135 Horsham Road junction.

Storrington Road, in Washington, was also closed because of an accident on the A24 London Road, Washington.

Both roads have now been re-opened.
