POLICE have managed to persuade a 15-year-old boy down from the edge of a multi-storey car park in Worthing today (Monday, May 11).
Officers had been called to the High Street multi-storey, near the Guildbourne Centre, shortly after 9.15am, after reports that a youngster had been sitting on the top floor, near the edge.
Specially trained police officers spoke to the boy and eventually persuaded him to come down at 11.15am.
Chapel Road had been closed at both ends. It has now re-opened.
A police spokeswoman added that the boy had been detained under a section 136.
